Role Overview :

As a STEM Rater for Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology , you will play a critical role in enhancing the "brain" of our AI. You will work closely with the STEM Lead and your team to create, review, and refine high-quality educational content. Your main responsibility will be to rigorously evaluate AI responses for accuracy, clarity, and pedagogical effectiveness, ensuring that they meet the highest standards and are tailored to learners at various levels. Your subject matter expertise will directly contribute to improving AI’s ability to teach millions of students through technology.

Key Responsibilities :

  • High-Quality Data Creation & Curation :
  • Create and refine high-quality data, including detailed solutions and step-by-step explanations for STEM problems.
  • Ensure content adheres to established quality rubrics and pedagogical standards, focusing on accuracy, clarity, and effectiveness.
  • Provide insightful explanations that anticipate common student misconceptions.
  • AI Response Evaluation & Feedback :
  • Evaluate AI-generated responses for correctness, coherence, and adherence to instructions.
  • Provide constructive feedback to the AI model, identifying errors or areas for improvement in reasoning and presentation.
  • Assist in creating "ground truth" solutions and evaluation datasets to benchmark AI performance.
  • Subject Matter Expertise Application :
  • Apply deep knowledge of Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology to assess complex problems and verify solutions.
  • Stay updated with advancements and curriculum standards in your STEM field to ensure content relevance and accuracy.
  • Collaboration & Workflow Adherence :
  • Work closely with the STEM Lead and fellow raters to ensure consistency in data creation and evaluation processes.
  • Adhere to established workflows, deadlines, and project requirements.
  • Communicate challenges encountered in data creation or AI evaluation to resolve issues effectively.

Required Qualifications & Experience :

  • Educational Background : A Master's degree (M.Sc. / M.Tech) in Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or a closely related field from a premier institution (e.g., IIT, BITS, NIT, IISER, IISc, TIFR) is required. A Ph.D. is a plus.
  • Subject Expertise : Strong expertise across a wide range of topics within your STEM subject, covering syllabi for competitive exams (e.g., JEE Mains & Advanced, NEET, GATE) and major undergraduate curricula. Must be capable of solving complex problems and previous years' questions for competitive exams.
  • Teaching / Content Creation Experience : A minimum of 7 years of experience in teaching, tutoring, content writing, or academic research within your STEM field. Experience with competitive exam preparation is highly valued.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to clearly and accurately explain complex concepts.

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Track Record of Success : Proven success in producing top-ranking students in competitive exams like JEE Advanced, NEET, or GATE.
  • Content Development : Experience in creating original, high-quality problems for competitive exams or Olympiad levels. Writing teaching materials, notes, and question banks is highly desirable.
  • AI / ML Feedback Experience : Familiarity with providing structured feedback for AI models or large language models.

  • Organized & Efficient : Able to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proactive in solving problems independently.
  • Collaborative & Dynamic : Works well within a team, open to feedback, and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Tech-Savvy : Comfortable using tools like Google Workspace and collaborating in real-time with stakeholders.
