Hybrid & Electric Vehicle Battery Management System Engineer
Responsibilities :
Understand electrical architecture of HEV / EV
Define HEV / EV Battery Management System architecture
Conceptualization, Design and Development of xEV Lithium-Ion Battery Pack Controls
Requirement engineering of BMS with FuSa compliance
BMS Function architecture & control algorithm creation such as SOC, SOH, cell balancing, life optimization, safety controls, cell characterization, energy management, thermal management
Work with xEV system team to identify the BMS electrical interfaces, calibration and testing team to generate battery system DVP
ISO 26262 compliance for BMS, DFMEA
Adopt model-based design approach in BMS
BMS Controls Software Verification and Validation
Coordination with other design departments suppliers & related agencies for design and development activities
Technical / Functional Competencies :
Knowledge of types of cells / modules, chemistry, electrical characteristics, battery packs architectures etc.
Knowledge of design, safety & test standards of Lithium-Ion battery
Working experience of battery management system hardware / software design, configuration and testing
Model Based Design, experience with Matlab Simulink / State flow
ECU testing, excellent electrical / electronic troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of ISO 26262 & ISO21434
Exposure to Hybrid / Electric Powertrain Control Design, development, Verification and Validation. Familiarity with on board diagnostics.
Knowledge of HEV / EV Regulations such as AIS 038 & other relevant regulations

Educational Qualification :
Must Have- B.E. / BTech in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics / Electronics & Communication Engineering
Desirable - M.E. / MTech in Control Systems / Power Electronics / Mechatronics with project work related to Electric / Hybrid Vehicle Systems
