Implement and govern the overall standards and direction for Architecture and Integration for a given domain in Development ensuring the right DDIT investments are driven by business priorities.
Manage complexities of multiple solution components / coordination across diverse stakeholder groups within business domains.
Define and manage the Architecture Baseline, Target Architecture, and Roadmap (including conceptual & logical), covering capabilities, applications and platforms, services, data, technologies, etc., and architecture-relevant relations for a given domain in Development in the enterprise repository.
Participate in the Technology Evaluation for the business / technical solutions ensuring a holistic approach is applied.
Identify high-level technology solutions to address business demand, ensure globally aligned business capabilities, and drive adoption of global solutions.
Ensure a retirement / exit strategy exists for business / technology solutions.
Contribute and ensure adherence to Enterprise standards and architecture Governance (e.g. architecture methods, tools, practices, and standards) for DDIT, supporting the Architecture Governance team / Community of Practice
Ensure adherence to ISC, Legal, ethics, and other compliance policies and procedures in defining architecture standards, patterns, and solutions.
Take functional responsibility for supporting and mentoring the solution architects and data modelers to expand the depth and breadth of skills.
Ensure Solution Architecture, design, and models are reviewed for Program / Project / Platform Architecture in scope for the respective domain in close collaboration with Product Lines.
Provide overall architecture leadership to the transformation programs to support the provision of services and solutions for the given domains.
Support the programs to deliver standardized operating guidelines, design principles, and best practices agreed at the Development and Enterprise levels.
Enforce a standard technology stack to streamline the development process, enhance interoperability, and support scalability.
Schedule reviews to assess adherence to guidelines, identify improvement opportunities, and maintain / track cross-program integrations / dependencies.
Support technology selection activity across the Development and Enterprise levels.
Accountable for supporting the Development Transformation Programs during delivery to ensure the right architecture decisions are made and we avoid bottlenecks.
Essential Requirements
Bachelors degree in a computer science, engineering, or information technology discipline. An advanced degree and related accreditations are a plus.
A minimum of 15 years of IT experience in a highly regulated environment and global matrix organization, ideally within Pharmaceutical industries, with a preference for experience in drug development domains.
Demonstrated history of exceptional stakeholder management skills
Proven experience in Architectural design, implementing, and governing large programs and understanding of the business processes and systems within Drug Development.
Experience in leveraging digital technology in the Drug Development space
Proven experience in delivering large-scale global solutions and engaging with senior leadership
Experience in delivering validated IT solutions and collaborating across boundaries
