Who we are :

We are a start-up based out of Bengaluru . We are engaged in development of next generation missions and technologies (NGM&T) towards future warfare needs of the Indian defense forces. We are undertaking research towards enhancing persistence and autonomy for unmanned vehicles and robotic swarms. NRT’s product development portfolio includes a solar power stratospheric high altitude pseudo satellite (HAPS) unmanned platform and an air / ground launched stand-off autonomous system.

Title : Sr. Manager - Business Finance

Roles and Responsibilities :

Financial Planning and Analysis :

  • Develop, oversee and enforce the financial planning process, including budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Analyze financial data, trends, and performance metrics to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Collaborate with department heads to create departmental budgets and ensure alignment with overall organizational goals.
  • Evaluate financial performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
  • Knowledge of direct and indirect taxes is desirable.

Financial Reporting and Compliance :

  • Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses to stakeholders, including management, board of directors, and external parties.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
  • Oversee internal controls and processes to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Coordinate and manage external audits and examinations.
  • Strategic Financial Management :

  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization, revenue enhancement, and risk mitigation
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to support business objectives and ensure financial integrity.
  • Team Leadership and Development :

  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance department.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively, ensuring efficient workflow and optimal utilization of resources.
  • Stakeholder / Banking Relationship Management :

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Serve as a key point of contact for financial inquiries and communications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and business objectives.
  • Financial Systems and Technology :

  • Evaluate and implement financial systems, tools, and technologies to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Stay current with advancements in financial technology and recommend innovations to improve financial operations.
  • Special Projects and Initiatives :

  • Lead or participate in special projects, initiatives, and ad hoc analyses as required by senior management.
  • Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies across the organization.
  • Key skills to have :

  • Knowledge of Indian GAAP, including IndAS
  • Timely closure of books every month and Investor reporting
  • Experience in cash flow and working capital management
  • Effective implementation of processes
  • Experience in managing Big 4 auditors
  • Experience in implementation of ERP
  • Team management experience :

  • Should have managed a team of at least 5-10 employees.
  • Qualifications and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • CA qualification is mandatory.
  • CS, CPA, CFA CMA are a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership capacity. Experience in Manufacturing / Engineering organizations is a plus.
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Understanding of US GAAP and Indian GAAP, including IndAS accounting standards
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
