Research Scientist

Society for Applied Studies (SAS), a Delhi-based not-for-profit research organization with its office in Kalu Sarai, invites applications for the position of Research Scientist (MBBS with MD in Community Medicine) for a community-based research project in Delhi.

Place of Work : Society for Applied Studies, South Delhi, India

Project Duration : 3 Years

Salary : Commensurate with experience

About the Project

This national priority initiative, coordinated by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), aims to develop growth standards for Indian children, setting benchmarks for child growth and development across the country. Working on this multi-site research initiative offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a study of national priority that will shape public health policies for years to come.

Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to oversee all aspects of the India Child Growth Standards Research Initiative in Delhi. This role demands working closely with a multi-disciplinary team of investigators, field staff, and stakeholders, while contributing to the implementation of rigorous research protocols.

In addition, the organization provides a collaborative platform for professional growth. It includes opportunities for skill enhancement in advanced epidemiology, biostatistics, and data analysis through structured training programs and exposure to cutting-edge research methodologies.

Qualifications : MBBS + MD in Community Medicine from a recognized university.

Experience : At least one year of experience in health research or project management, preferably in public health.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all project activities in alignment with the study’s objectives.

Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure smooth field operations and adherence to protocols.

Ensure data quality and provide regular updates to the principal investigators.

Develop solutions to address challenges and ensure project milestones are achieved.

Knowledge and Skills

Strong foundation in epidemiology and biostatistics, with a keen interest in applying advanced methods to public health research.

Proficiency in at least one statistical software package, such as SPSS, STATA, or R.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an aptitude for scientific writing.
