Substation Civil Design Engineer

About The Role

Our UK based contractor client are seeking an experienced Substation Civil Design Engineer to join the Bengaluru-based engineering team supporting UK power transmission and distribution projects . The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering civil and structural design packages for high-voltage substations (up to 400kV) in accordance with UK design standards and client specifications.

This role requires prior experience working on UK substation projects , with a solid understanding of relevant British Standards (BS), EN codes , and UK DNO / TSO design practices .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver civil and structural design packages for AIS and GIS substations, including foundations, buildings, cable trenches, and equipment support structures.
• Prepare design calculations, drawings, and reports in compliance with UK standards, project specifications, and client requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, protection, and structural engineers to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Review and check design deliverables produced by internal teams or sub-consultants.
• Liaise with UK-based design leads and clients to ensure technical alignment and timely delivery.
• Conduct design risk assessments and apply CDM (Construction Design and Management) regulations where applicable.
• Support the preparation of Bill of Quantities (BoQ), technical specifications, and tender documentation.
• Ensure designs meet health, safety, and environmental requirements in line with UK and company standards.
