Job description

We are hiring a Technical Director Guidewire Development to lead and scale our Guidewire delivery capability in Chennai, India.

This is a highly technical, hands-on leadership role focused on architecting and delivering complex Guidewire implementations, while building and managing a local delivery team of 100+ engineers.

You will be deeply engaged as a senior Guidewire architect and lead developer working directly with clients on PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, or Digital projects.

Alongside delivery leadership, you will establish scalable development processes, mentor senior technologists, and expand the Chennai team to meet aggressive growth objectives.

This position requires a hybrid working presence in Chennai with close collaboration across global teams and client stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities :

Hands-on Guidewire Technical Leadership & Delivery :

Lead architecture, design, and development of Guidewire solutions across PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, and Digital modules.
Drive end-to-end Guidewire implementation including configuration, integration (SOAP / REST), and cloud deployment.
Collaborate with client technical teams and business stakeholders to define requirements and technical approaches.
Own code quality through reviews, performance tuning, and adherence to Guidewire best practices.
Resolve critical technical escalations and maintain delivery health metrics.

Build & Scale Guidewire Development Team in Chennai

Recruit, develop, and mentor a growing team of 100+ Guidewire developers, architects, and engineers.

Establish structured career paths, training programs, and knowledge sharing frameworks for Guidewire skill development.

Implement Agile delivery methodologies and DevOps practices tailored for large Guidewire teams.

Collaborate with HR and recruitment teams to execute aggressive hiring plans aligned with Vision 2030.

Strategic Delivery Leadership & Expansion

Define scalable technical frameworks and reusable accelerators for Guidewire development.

Partner with Practice Head and Sales on pre-sales technical engagements, solution demonstrations, and RFP responses.

Coordinate multi-team delivery schedules and align with client timelines and quality standards.

Drive innovation by integrating AI, cloud technologies, and automation into Guidewire delivery practices.

Required Qualifications

12+ years of enterprise software development experience with at least 8 years hands-on Guidewire development expertise.

Deep technical knowledge of Guidewire modules, Gosu programming, APIs, and cloud deployment models.

Proven leadership experience managing and scaling large Guidewire development teams on-site.

Strong Java development background and familiarity with modern DevOps / CI-CD pipelines.

Experience delivering Guidewire projects using Agile / SAFe methodologies.

Excellent client-facing and executive communication skills.
