Job Title : Pro Vice-Chancellor

Location : Pune

Experience Required : 15–20 Years

Role Summary

Our client is seeking a visionary academic leader to serve as Pro Vice-Chancellor, responsible for driving excellence across teaching, research, governance, and institutional development. The ideal candidate will bring deep familiarity with university norms, regulatory frameworks, and a proven track record in multidisciplinary academic leadership, preferably from state-owned private universities. Global experience with foreign universities is highly advantageous and will be a key differentiator in candidate evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership

  • Oversee curriculum innovation, OBE / CBCS implementation, and faculty development across Engineering, Design, Law, Management, and Liberal Arts
  • Promote research culture, publications, patents, and externally funded projects
  • Lead quality initiatives including NAAC / NBA / NIRF / ABET readiness

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure alignment with UGC, AICTE, BCI, PCI, and other statutory bodies
  • Serve on Academic Council, Board of Management, and statutory committees
  • Lead IQAC and institutional accreditation efforts
  • Strategic Development

  • Drive NEP 2020-aligned reforms and digital transformation in academics and administration
  • Mobilize resources through grants, industry partnerships, and alumni engagement
  • Strengthen branding, rankings, and external representation
  • Student Success & Inclusion

  • Foster a student-centric ecosystem focused on employability, life skills, and diversity
  • Oversee student welfare, progression, and career services
  • Academic Excellence and Global engagement

  • Drive strategic partnerships and collaborations with foreign universities, enhancing global visibility, student exchange, and joint research initiatives
  • Champion internationalization of curriculum, faculty engagement, and benchmarking against global best practices in higher education
  • Candidate Profile

  • 15–20 years of academic leadership, including experience as Professor and administrator
  • Strong understanding of regulatory norms, accreditation frameworks, and university governance
  • Prior experience in state-owned private universities preferred
  • Demonstrated ability in institution-building, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement
  • Doctoral qualification required
  • Global experience with foreign universities
