Assistant Manager – Purchase / Strategic Sourcing (Automotive | Machined & Electrical Parts) | Pune

Join Aera Gas Control Systems Pvt. Ltd. (Aera GCS) — a fast-growing Tier-2 automotive component manufacturer specializing in pneumatic & hydraulic solenoid valve assemblies. We partner with leading OEMs & Tier-1 suppliers, driving innovation and excellence across the value chain.

We are looking for a hands-on Assistant Manager – Purchase / Supplier Development & Sourcing with 4–6 years of experience in multi-commodity procurement and supplier development, preferably in the automotive sector.

What You’ll Do

Develop & manage suppliers for machined parts, plastics, sheet metal, rubber, springs, forgings, castings (PDC, SGI), and electrical components.
Lead supplier identification, audits, qualification & development (domestic & global).
Handle RFQs, RFPs, cost breakdowns (should-costing / ZBC) & commercial negotiations.
Track & analyse raw material indexes (Nalco, CIAM, steel, copper, aluminium) to build cost intelligence.
Ensure compliance with APQP, PPAP, Run@Rate, and IATF 16949 / VDA 6.3 / ISO 9001 standards.
Execute strategic sourcing initiatives — supplier consolidation, localization & long-term contracts.
Support tooling & capacity planning with Engineering & Quality teams.
Monitor supplier OTD, PPM & cost competitiveness and drive improvements.
Stay updated on global sourcing trends, commodity price movements & currency fluctuations.
Enhance procurement processes using ERP (SAP / Tally), Excel dashboards & digital tools.

What We’re Looking For

B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering (mandatory).

4–6 years of relevant experience in automotive purchase, sourcing or supplier development.

Strong exposure to multi-commodity procurement (mechanical + electrical).

Experience with APQP / PPAP / supplier audits & ERP systems.

Excellent negotiation, costing & supplier relationship skills.

Strong analytical abilities & advanced Excel proficiency.

Willingness to travel for supplier visits (domestic & international).

Exposure to strategic sourcing / global sourcing is a plus.

Location : Pune (Preference : Pune-based or willing to relocate)

Seniority : Mid-level (Sourcing Engineer / Purchase Engineer ready to step up are welcome!)
