Job Purpose :

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate (preferably in their 3rd or 4th year) with a strong background in causal inference and an interest in causal reasoning. This is a full-time, remote internship where you will contribute to cutting-edge research in causal inference and its applications in LLMs.

Key Responsibilities :

Conduct research on causal reasoning, leveraging potential outcomes or structural causal models.

Implement and experiment with causal inference methodologies in Python and PyTorch.

Work with causal inference libraries to develop and validate models.

Apply causal reasoning techniques to enhance LLM interpretability and robustness.

Collaborate with researchers to explore novel applications of causal inference in language models.

Present findings through reports and discussions with the team.

Work Location :

Remote - Work from Home

Duration of the paid internship :

The paid internship will be for six months starting third week of October 2025.

The working hours are from 9 : 00 to 18 : 00 (Monday to Friday) full-time.

Essential Education :

Preferred Ph.D. candidate for this internship with thesis aligned towards causal inference or data science topics. We also welcome candidates with Bachelors and Master Degree who have sufficient project / prior internship work experience in Causal area.

Skills required : Essential Skills :

Strong understanding of mathematical foundations in causal inference, including potential outcomes and structural causal models.

Knowledge of large language models (LLMs) and their underlying architectures.

Proficiency in Python, PyTorch and HuggingFace.

Experience working with causal inference libraries.

Ability to work independently and dedicate full-time effort. .

Good to have Skills :

Prior research experience in causal reasoning applied to machine learning or LLMs.

Having experience in publishing at top-tier conferences or workshops such as NeurIPS, ICML, AAAI, KDD etc.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
