Junior Accountant – US Accounting (Work from Office, Kolkata)

Location : Kolkata, India

Work Mode : Full-time, Work from Office

Experience : 1–3 years

Compensation : ₹5–8 LPA (depending on experience and skills)

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Accountant to join the accounting and bookkeeping team supporting US-based clients. In this role, you’ll handle day-to-day accounting operations, reconciliations, and reporting while working closely with both the India and US teams.

This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to international accounting practices, learn advanced tools like QuickBooks Online, and build a strong foundation in financial operations with a fast-growing global accounting firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily bookkeeping and general accounting operations for assigned clients.
  • Handle Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet schedules and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Assist in analyzing and reconciling client accounts; research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with senior accountants to streamline processes and improve accuracy.
  • Communicate clearly with team members in India and the US to ensure timely deliverables.
  • Contribute ideas for improving accounting workflows and efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
  • 1–3 years of experience in accounting, financial operations, or auditing.
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Proficient in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, basic formulas). Power Query is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks (Online or Desktop) preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
