We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PHP Developer with deep expertise in backend development and a strong interest in expanding their skills in Python (FastAPI). This role is ideal for developers comfortable maintaining legacy PHP systems while transitioning into modern, scalable architectures using Python.

This is a hybrid role based in one of our offices in India (Mumbai or Hyderabad).

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and enhance web applications primarily built in PHP.
Collaborate on the Ongoing migration of PHP-based systems to Python (FastAPI).
Understand and support stakeholder requirements to ensure project alignment and successful delivery.
Build, test, and deploy RESTful APIs and backend services.
Optimize code for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Work closely with frontend teams to ensure seamless integration.
Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and architecture discussions.
Maintain documentation and follow clean coding practices.
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across PHP and Python environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

5+ years of hands-on backend development experience.

Proven track record of building and maintaining large-scale web applications.

Must-Have Skills

5+ years of strong experience in PHP development (Laravel or custom frameworks).

Solid understanding of OOP principles and MVC frameworks.

Hands-on experience with MySQL / PostgreSQL databases.

Working knowledge of Python (preferably FastAPI or Flask).

Familiarity with REST API design and backend integrations.

Proficiency with Git, Docker, and deployment workflows.

Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.

Eagerness to learn and adopt new technologies, especially Python-based development.

Good- to- Have Skills

Experience in system migration from PHP to Python.

Knowledge of asynchronous programming, background tasks, or event-driven architecture.

Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Understanding of frontend technologies (React, Vue, etc.) for full-stack collaboration.
