Head Data, Integrations & Analytics Platforms

Major Responsibilities :

• Lead large technology and project / program management teams (approximately 70+ internal associates supported by 350+ externals) to define and implement Data, Integrations and Analytics Platform capabilities for Novartis, overseeing the expenditure of approximately $60M annually.
• Strategy definition and execution for business systems and processes across the enterprise for data, integrations and analytics platforms.
• Define and select platform technologies to address enterprise needs as well as partner with various business functions to drive adoption and monetize business impact.
• Partner with various business functions and enable efficient design, automation, and delivery of self-service solutions on the Visualization / UX and data prep platforms, including design and coding standards that are aligned to the architecture standards.
• Develop colleagues and grow talent towards making Data and Associates AI-ready.
• Integrate GenAI capabilities within data, integration, and analytics platforms to enhance the experience of both developers and consumers of analytics.
• Enable smooth onboarding of various use cases on the data, integrations and analytics platforms increasing efficiencies and reducing delivery intervals.
• Capability building and roadmap for various data, integrations and analytics platforms. Operate at scale to cater to various use cases on the platform with focus on Cloud and AI technologies.
• Define how different platform components will need to interact and sustain an integrated end-user experience across all platforms.
• Implement large programs in accordance with budget, quality, and timeline. Create reusable assets (data, user experience, platforms, products) and deploy them across functions and geographies for business value generation.
• Create, evangelize, and maintain point of view on emerging market trends in life sciences, pharma industry on pertinent capabilities.
• Adopt user-centric design approach and automated testing practices to roll out solutions rapidly.
• Define and maintain platform architecture standards and roadmaps required to operationalize business needs for a new service.
• Drive product relationship management with the software vendors and system integrators.
• Assess business opportunities, understand market trends, and come up with strong business cases to drive the platform capabilities towards the org. vision & values.
• Deliver against agreed KPIs utilizing fit for purpose technologies and project lifecycle methodologies (including Waterfall, Agile, and DevSecOps) and establish efficient project governance framework to communicate with stakeholders on a timely manner.
• Work closely with Enterprise Architecture team, Enterprise Data Management team and technology & cloud partners (such as Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle, Databricks, Snowflake, Informatica, etc.) to define technological roadmaps and to translate concepts into scalable products.
• Accountable for the full platform solution lifecycle including Release Management, CI / CD, DevSecOps / Software Engineering / QA Engineering / Product Delivery and financial management.
• Ensure compliance of all designed solutions within platform architecture scope to all relevant internal / external requirements (e.g., GxP, SOX, Information Security and Compliance framework).
• Infuse new culture and mindset at role modelling Novartis values & behaviors.
