Design Manager

This is what you’ll be called : Design Manager

Here’s what you’ll really do : Be at the centre of projects at the intersection of clients and internal teams. If you’re interested in design and love tackling design-related issues from a strategic and creative perspective, and have some experience working with digital, product or service related projects, this is the place for you.

You’ll be dealing with managers and senior product leads on a daily basis (which also means you’ll be in the firing line!) and coordinating with the design team to create design solutions that work. You’ll also be closely involved in the running of the day-to-day affairs at Icarus Nova, and responsible for the output that is delivered to the clients. The role is part design strategy, part project management and part growing the business. Being part of a flat organization, we’ll need you to be versatile, adaptable and flexible – willing to don multiple hats and straddle across multiple projects.

Responsibilities :

• Interface with clients on a day-to-day basis regarding handling and delivery of projects.
• Create briefing decks for design teams to help them better understand project requirements.
• Research & Strategy : Participate and take charge of strategic and research components of projects that require it, including hypothesizing new ideas, helping with stimulus creation with the help of AI, conducting secondary research, meeting consumers and synthesizing research results.
• Project manage complex, strategic projects right from the briefing stage to the final delivery. Including allocating resources and tracking financial viability or otherwise of projects.
• Client Relationship Management : Manage relationships with key clients and accounts and look to grow the business organically through these relationships.
• Checking of the final output delivered to clients – in terms of design as well as other details.
• Coordinate with directors / managers / senior designers to ensure timely execution of deliverables.
• Establish a rapport with the internal team as well as clients to help enhance Icarus Nova’s reputation with time.
• Assist in building Icarus’ portfolio and social media presence.

Qualifications : Graduate (Any Stream), MBA (Marketing / Marketing Communications). Any degree in design or design management – preferable. Might not be applicable for candidates with relevant experience.

Experience : Ideally, 1-2 years of experience in a client-facing and / or strategy role in a creative / marketing driven organization.

Any other requirements : Good communication skills and command of English. Interest in the field of design. It would help if you were highly collaborative as well as detail oriented.

Hours and environment : Expectation to work flexibly to support project deadlines. This may include evening and the occasional weekend work. Travel occasionally for research or client meetings.

Salary : Negotiable
