Job description

We are seeking a Senior Embedded Cyber Security Engineer to join the Automation Engineering team, focusing on the design and development of cybersecurity software for next-generation Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) and automation products.

This role combines embedded software development with cybersecurity expertise for critical distribution automation systems.

The candidate will also provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the team.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design, implement, and test cybersecurity features for RTUs and automation products.
  • Prepare and maintain test specifications, conformance test cases, and test setups.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and rework engineering samples and test environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-site teams to plan, design, develop, test, and release product software.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Capture, document, and report test results and user requirements.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality software documentation (user manuals, SOPs, reports).
  • Participate in peer reviews, solution design discussions, and code quality improvements.
  • Support the migration of legacy applications to modern platforms.
  • Research and evaluate cybersecurity standards, encryption algorithms, and compliance frameworks.
  • Provide 3rd-level support to business users as needed.

Required Qualifications & Skills :

  • Graduate in Electronics / Computer / Software Engineering or equivalent.
  • 79 years of experience in embedded software / cybersecurity development.

    • Strong expertise in :

  • C / C++, GNU toolchain (GCC, GDB, JTAG).
  • Embedded real-time applications on ARM architecture.
  • Linux, Yocto, Eclipse IDE.
  • Source code management tools (Git, SVN).
  • Unit testing, bug tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla).
  • Cybersecurity protocols : IEC 62351, NERC CIP, IEEE 1686.
  • Industry protocols : IEC 104 / 101 / 103, Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, HTTP.
  • Role-based User Account Management integrated with web servers.

    • Desirable Skills :

  • CMake, State Machine design, MISRA compliance.
  • Firmware & patch management.
  • Real-time OS and multiprocessor architecture.
  • Device drivers (CAN bus, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, Serial).
  • XML schema design & transformations (XSLT).
  • Continuous integration (Jenkins, Hudson).
  • IPC frameworks like ZeroMQ.
