The Application Team Lead is responsible for managing, supporting, and enhancing enterprise applications across retail operations, including POS, CRM, ERP, and e-commerce platforms. This role involves leading a team of developers and analysts to ensure seamless integration, performance, and usability of IT systems that drive store operations, customer engagement, and backend processing.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and mentor the application support / development team across retail business units.
- Manage and optimize key retail applications (e.g., POS, Inventory, Loyalty, CRM, and e-commerce platforms).
- Collaborate with functional teams (Sales, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain) to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Oversee incident, change, and release management processes.
- Monitor application performance and coordinate upgrades, patches, and vendor support.
- Ensure seamless integration between ERP, POS, payment gateways, and mobile apps.
- Define and enforce best practices in application development and support.
- Participate in project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Ensure data integrity, compliance, and audit-readiness in systems.
Skills & Competencies :
Strong knowledge of retail business processes (Sales, Store Ops, Promotions, Loyalty, etc.)Experience with retail application ecosystems (e.g., SAP, Oracle Retail, Wondersoft, Shopify, Zoho, etc.)Proficiency in API integration, automation, and middleware platformsExcellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional coordination skillsProblem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to risk mitigationSkills Required
