Role Description :
We’re building a kids’ audio-first Android platform (ages 6–12) and are looking for a QA engineer to help us ensure that our custom handheld device and its software are secure, stable, and kid-safe .
Scope & Responsibilities :
- Functional QA : Test all core modes : Listen / Play / Explore / Create
- Verify onboarding, profile management, parental controls, and app flows
- Test device hardware components : speaker, mic, camera, Wi-Fi, battery, and storage
- Perform kid-safety checks and flag issues in security & privacy
- Audit all sharing or content exposure flows for child safety compliance
- Identify potential vulnerabilities in data handling, storage, and permissions
- Network (offline / low bandwidth, packet loss, captive portal, MITM, clock skew)
- Conduct crash, ANR, and long-run stability tests
- Measure battery drain, memory usage, and thermal performance
- Run basic accessibility checks for usability and compliance
Requirements :
2-3 years of experience in QA and security testing for Android-based or IoT devicesAbility to conduct hardware, network, and performance testingStrong documentation and reporting skillsBonus : Experience with child safety guidelines, custom firmware, embedded Android, or kid-friendly devices
