Manager, Software Engineering (Service Cloud)

Calix is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our dynamic team of Java / Golang engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background with hands-on coding experience in Java, Golang, and Python. They should have proven experience in managing a team of engineers building internet-scale cloud services, distributed systems, and event-driven applications on public, private, or hybrid clouds. Experience with both AWS and GCP is required, with a preference for GCP. This role also requires expertise in performance management.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead and manage a team of engineers specializing in Java, Golang, and Python to deliver high-quality cloud services and distributed systems.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the development team, ensuring best practices in coding, architecture, and design.
• Oversee the entire development process, including planning, execution, and delivery of cloud services and event-driven applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and QA, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of features.
• Implement and maintain agile methodologies to ensure efficient and effective project management.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure the team is using the most current and effective tools and practices.
• Manage the deployment process, ensuring smooth and timely releases of cloud services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during development and deployment.
• Oversee performance management, ensuring that team members are meeting their goals and contributing to the success of the organization.
