Description : Role Overview :

The Assistant Vice President Data Centre will lead the planning, design, implementation, and management of enterprise data centre operations across Windows, Linux, and AIX environments. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring reliability, scalability, security, and compliance across the organizations IT infrastructure. The AVP will oversee virtualization, storage, and backup platforms while driving automation, process efficiency, and continuous improvement within data centre operations.

Key Responsibilities :

Strategic Leadership & Planning :

  • Define and execute the overall data centre infrastructure strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead capacity planning, resource optimization, and lifecycle management for servers, storage, and virtualization environments.
  • Oversee technology modernization initiatives, including OS upgrades, virtualization consolidation, and data centre transformation projects.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and standards for infrastructure governance, security, and compliance.

Infrastructure & Platform Management :

  • Direct the design, implementation, and management of Windows, Linux, and AIX environments.
  • Oversee virtualization platforms (VMware) and ensure optimal utilization and high availability.
  • Lead the design, deployment, and management of enterprise storage (SAN, NAS) and backup solutions.
  • Manage patch management processes and platforms (e.g., IBM BigFix) for data centre and end-user devices.
  • Security, Compliance & Identity Management :

  • Govern Active Directory (AD) operations, including domain management, federation, and access control.
  • Implement enterprise Group Policies (GPOs) and enforce server hardening, compliance, and audit readiness.
  • Oversee authentication mechanisms (SAML, OAuth2.0), IIS servers, and certificate lifecycle management.
  • Ensure implementation of IT security standards and alignment with regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Operations & Service Management :

  • Lead data centre operations, including monitoring, incident response, and performance management.
  • Oversee disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity planning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless service delivery and infrastructure reliability.
  • Drive automation and scripting initiatives to streamline operations and reduce manual overhead.
  • Required Skills & Experience :

  • 15+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and data centre management, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Proven expertise in managing large-scale server farms, virtualization environments, and enterprise storage systems.
  • Strong knowledge of AD, authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth 2.0), and certificate management.
  • Hands-on experience with patch and configuration management tools (e.g., BigFix).
  • Demonstrated experience in server hardening, audit, and compliance management.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Desirable Skills :

  • Experience in automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Familiarity with ITIL or similar service management frameworks.
  • Experience in managing hybrid or cloud-integrated data centre environments.
