About the Role :
Chargebee is looking for a Senior Legal Associate who thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced, high-performing, and collaborative environment. You will work collaboratively with Legal, Finance, Operations, Sales, IT, and Customer Success to resolve contract-related issues. You have a strong work ethic and flexibility and are comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy and ambiguity. You are a pro-active legal professional with a penchant for helping to build a business and have a strong bias for action. You feel comfortable working in a fast paced international and multi-cultural environment and enjoy working across multiple internal company disciplines. You are curious about complex technology and strive to be a highly visible key component in a rapidly expanding business that deals with some of the largest enterprises in the world.
Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, the Senior Legal Associate will be responsible for the following :
- Conducting an in-depth review of contracts and related documents so that contractual terms and conditions comply with standard or approved business practices, corporate legal, finance and risk management requirements.
- Ensuring that contracts align with company policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations.
- Collaborating cross-functionally to clarify contract terms and resolve any issues.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial agreements, including customer agreements, vendor contracts, license agreements, and partnership agreements.
- Partnering internally to streamline agreement review and processing and providing regular detailed status reports to internal departments.
- Conducing risk assessments to evaluate the potential impact of contract terms and propose strategies for risk mitigation.
- Helping to maintain and update our standard agreements, agreement playbooks, and internal documentation & training materials on our contract process.
Qualifications :
Minimum of 5 post-qualification experience practicing commercial law in a reputable law firm or in-house with a global enterprise technology company.Law degree from a nationally accredited law school and license to practice law or as in-house legal counsel in the jurisdiction where you are based.Extensive experience with outbound SaaS transactions, inbound vendor, channel partner, MSP, and supplier agreements, involving data protection, security, and cloud technology.Experience with privacy, data protection, and security in SaaS, including knowledge of evolving regulations and compliance frameworks.Demonstrated ability to deliver results and drive alignment on complex, cross-functional projects involving various stakeholders.Availability to work and support end of quarter business requirements.Fluency in written and spoken English.Ability to successfully work independently but also able to use good judgment and escalate issues when needed.Sound time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritise work.Key Competencies :
