We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Sr Application Eng Supervisor to join our dynamic team at Sparta Systems. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and managing the application engineering team dedicated to Airports business in the Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) domain. You will ensure the successful execution of projects, deliver high-quality solutions to customers, and drive continuous improvement in engineering processes.
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Oversee and manage a team of Engineers, Senior Engineers, and Lead Engineers, ensuring independent execution of projects within the AGL domain for the Airports business.
- Be responsible for requirements finalization, AGL design, testing, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) with customers, including as-built drawings.
- Supervise and coordinate all on-site AGL installation and commissioning activities.
- Support testing, troubleshooting, and handover of AGL systems to clients.
- Execute projects according to the established Project Management framework.
- Review project inputs and tender specifications, guiding the team accordingly.
- Estimate AGL bids in collaboration with the Pricing & Estimation (P&E) team.
- Act as the primary technical interface to customers, ensuring projects are executed within agreed schedules and budgets to meet customer requirements.
- Prepare for and participate in turnover and project review meetings, addressing technical queries and scope clarifications.
- Proactively identify potential issues and technical risks in projects, flagging them to Engineering Managers.
- Monitor defects and implement Corrective Action / Preventive Action (CA / PA) to meet quality standards.
- Lead the development of project plans and work plans, including activity identification.
- Monitor and control assigned work scope against the project plan, manage change control, and identify risks / opportunities.
- Foster a continuous improvement culture within the team to enhance quality, reduce cost, and promote standardization.
- Ensure effective application of common methods, techniques, tools, and products, providing feedback for future improvements.
- Review deliverables from engineers and senior engineers against project standards and quality documents.
- Manage vendors for third-party deliverables and review customer communications prepared by the team.
- Build an effective, collaborative team committed to organizational goals and lead change management initiatives.
- Ensure participation in weekly calls with Project Managers and customers.
- Monitor and ensure timely submission of weekly project status reports for all projects.
- Engage in workforce planning using SAP and other relevant tools.
- Provide supervision, resolve issues for direct reports, and offer technical mentoring.
- Conduct performance evaluation and management of the team in conjunction with the reporting manager.
Skills Requirement :
Strong knowledge of AGL components (CCR, transformers, lighting fixtures, etc.).Familiarity with Honeywell or equivalent AGL control systems is a plus.Experience working in live airport environments and a strong understanding of airside safety protocols.Good knowledge and expertise on ICAO-Annex 14.Hands-on experience with tools like AutoCAD / EPLAN.Experienced in detailed panel design, including component selection (enclosures, terminal blocks, fuses, heaters, fans, lights, filters).Experienced in power supply sizing, including circuit breaker selection.Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Growth and customer-focused mindset with a passion for winning.Strong commitment to technical excellence.Ability to build exceptional talent and drive continuous improvement.PMP or equivalent project management certification (optional but advantageous).QUALIFICATION :
