The Role: As a Wash Drone Pilot, you’ll operate specialized drones to perform exterior building washdowns and maintenance tasks. You will be part of a multi-crew team, reporting to the site Remote pilot in command, executing RPAS flight missions in accordance with CASA regulations and Company operating procedures. We require someone who is flexible - our projects are not only in Melbourne, but also in remote areas, going away for several days at a time.
Key Responsibilities:
· Preflight planning activities for RPAS operations.
· Pre- and Post-flight RPAS maintenance checks.
· Approved schedule and unscheduled maintenance.
· Assessment of weather, ground risk and airspace considerations for RPAS operations.
· Compliance with company policies, procedures and RPAS Operations Manual
· Safe operation of small, medium and possibly large wash drones.
· Listening watch of aviation radio network.
· Deploy to remote locations and away from home in support of RPAS operations
· Accurate completion and submission of operational documentation.
Minimum Requirements:
· CASA RePL (Remote Pilot Licence), or equivalent
· Current AROC (Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate), or equivalent.
· Experience operating drones commercially (minimum 6 months preferred).
· White Card (Construction Induction) – mandatory.
· Able to travel outside Melbourne to remote areas for several days
· Physically fit
· Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
· Understanding and working knowledge of CASA RPAS regulations.
Desirable Skills:
· Experience with cleaning or maintenance work.
· Knowledge of DJI or similar drone platforms.
· Basic mechanical or technical troubleshooting skills.
Hours: Flexible, casual and part-time schedule, typically 2–3 days per week, depending on project demand. Full time hours will be possible over time for the right person.
