About the Role :

The AVP – Investment Banking (Equity & M&A) is responsible for originating, executing, and managing M&A and equity fundraising transactions. This role involves deal origination, financial structuring, stakeholder management, and transaction execution. The position requires a deep understanding of financial markets, a strong industry network, and expertise in strategic advisory, valuation, and negotiations.

Key Responsibilities :

Deal Origination & Business Development

Identify and develop new M&A and equity fundraising opportunities , including private equity and strategic investments.

Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, private equity firms, venture capitalists, and corporate clients to generate deal flow.

Conduct market intelligence and sector research to identify emerging trends and potential investment opportunities.

Transaction Execution & Structuring

Lead and manage end-to-end M&A transactions , including deal structuring, valuation, due diligence, and negotiations.

Develop and execute capital-raising strategies , including private placements, structured finance, and equity fundraising.

Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including legal, tax, and compliance teams , to ensure smooth execution of transactions.

Financial Analysis & Strategy

Conduct comprehensive financial modeling , valuation analysis, and risk assessment to support investment decisions.

Perform industry and company research , assessing financial and operational performance metrics to advise on deal strategy.

Develop investment memos, pitch books, and deal-related presentations for clients and investors.

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic insights on M&A and investment banking trends.

Manage relationships with investment banks, legal advisors, due diligence teams, and corporate finance teams to drive deal execution.

Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks, corporate governance, and financial structuring norms .

Qualifications & Requirements :

Education : MBA (Finance) / CFA / CA or an equivalent qualification.

Experience : Minimum 12+ years in investment banking, M&A, or equity fundraising.

Industry Network : Strong relationships with investment firms, private equity, and financial institutions .

Technical Expertise : Proficiency in financial modeling , valuations, deal structuring, and due diligence .

Leadership & Communication : Ability to lead teams, drive negotiations, and influence key stakeholders.

Preferred Skills :

Experience in cross-border M&A transactions .

Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in capital markets .

Exposure to multiple industry sectors such as BFSI, Infrastructure, Technology, or Healthcare .
