PostgreSQL Engineer L3

Location : Hyderabad

Experience : 5-8 years

Responsibilities

  • Act as subject matter expert for PostgreSQL database operations and automation across hybrid environments.
  • Configure and maintain high availability (HA) and replication strategies for mission-critical databases.
  • Design and implement backup and recovery policies using pgBackRest or Commvault integrations.
  • Optimize queries, indexes, and storage parameters to improve performance and resource utilization.
  • Automate patch deployment, version upgrades, and DR validation using Ansible or Jenkins pipelines.
  • Collaborate with application teams to tune SQL and connection pools for production workloads.
  • Integrate PostgreSQL metrics into Splunk and AWS CloudWatch / Azure Monitor for proactive monitoring and analytics.
  • Lead problem management and RCA documentation for database incidents.

Qualifications we seek in you!

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Good years of experience in PostgreSQL administration, performance tuning, and automation.
  • Strong understanding of replication, HA, and disaster recovery architecture.
  • Proficiency in SQL, PL / pgSQL scripting, and query optimization.

    • Preferred Qualifications / Skills

  • Primary : PostgreSQL 12+, pgBackRest, Ansible, Jenkins, AWS RDS, Azure PostgreSQL, Splunk.
  • Secondary : Linux, Python, GitLab CI / CD, Terraform, Prometheus, CloudWatch.
  • Certifications : PostgreSQL DBA / AWS Database Specialty.
