Role Overview :

  • We are seeking a ServiceNow CMDB Implementation Expert to lead the design, deployment, and optimization of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within the ServiceNow platform.
  • The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in CMDB architecture, discovery, service mapping, and integration with ITSM / ITOM modules, ensuring accurate configuration data and alignment with ITIL best practices.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead end-to-end implementation of ServiceNow CMDB, ensuring accurate configuration item (CI) data and relationships.
  • Design and maintain the CMDB data model, including CI classes, attributes, and relationships.
  • Configure and optimize Discovery and Service Mapping to ensure automated and reliable population of CMDB data.
  • Integrate CMDB with ITSM, ITOM, and other enterprise systems for real-time updates and visibility.
  • Define and enforce data governance, data quality, and reconciliation policies.
  • Develop CMDB dashboards, reports, and data health metrics.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align CMDB strategy with business and IT operations.
  • Conduct workshops, gather requirements, and translate business needs into technical configurations.
  • Provide knowledge transfer and documentation for ongoing CMDB operations and maintenance.

    • Required Skills & Experience :

  • 5 years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow implementation, with at least 3+ years focused on CMDB and Discovery.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes, especially Configuration Management.
  • Proven experience in Service Mapping, Discovery probes / sensors, and MID Server configuration.
  • Proficiency in ServiceNow ITOM, ITSM, and related modules.
  • Experience with data integrations (REST, SOAP, API, etc.) and import sets / transform maps.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for CMDB data integrity and performance issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – CMDB / Discovery / ITOM preferred.
