The LAN / WiFi Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying, managing, and troubleshooting LAN and Wireless networks, with a strong focus on Aruba and Cisco technologies. The role demands hands-on expertise in Aruba Central, Aruba switches, Wireless Access Points (APs), and advanced networking protocols.
The engineer will also play a key role in maintaining network performance, ensuring high availability, and providing Level 2 support in a large-scale enterprise network environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Configure, deploy, install, and troubleshoot Aruba and Cisco switches, Wireless Controllers, and Access Points (APs).
- Manage and administer Aruba Central for wireless deployments, monitoring, and performance optimization.
- Perform installation and configuration of new network infrastructure, including switches, routers, controllers, and APs.
- Implement network segmentation, VLANs, trunking, and inter-VLAN routing to support organizational requirements.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to LAN / WLAN, Aruba Central, and Cisco ISE environments.
- Analyze and troubleshoot network and wireless performance problems, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Provide Level 2 (L2) operational support to users, clients, and integrated applications.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for escalations and root cause analysis.
- Perform regular upgrades, patching, and maintenance of existing Switches, Wireless Controllers, and Access Points.
- Monitor system health, capacity, and performance through network monitoring tools such as HPE-IMC and Zabbix.
- Ensure proper functioning of SNMP-based monitoring systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot authentication systems including 802.1X, RADIUS, TACACS+, and EAP methods.
- Work with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and identity-based access control systems.
- Ensure compliance with internal network security standards and best practices.
Network Protocols & Technologies :
Demonstrate strong working knowledge of Ethernet LAN switching protocols, including :1. EtherChannel / Link Aggregation
2. PVLANs
3. Spanning Tree (STP) & Rapid Spanning Tree (RSTP)
4. 802.1Q Trunking
Familiarity with routing fundamentals and basic understanding of Palo Alto firewalls.Experience with Infoblox for DHCP, DNS, and IP Address Management (IPAM).Utilize network monitoring and performance tools (e.g., HPE IMC, Zabbix) for proactive issue detection and optimization.Adhere to ITIL framework practices for Incident, Change, and Problem Management.Log, document, and resolve issues following standard SLA and escalation protocols.Contribute to process improvement and problem-solving initiatives.Provide 24x7 operational support as per shift schedule.Manage multiple concurrent tasks effectively while maintaining quality and accuracy.Required Skills & Experience :
In-depth knowledge of Aruba Central, Aruba Switches, and Wireless Solutions.Proficiency with Cisco Switching and Wireless Technologies.Experience in LAN / WLAN troubleshooting and ISE integration.Working knowledge of Ethernet LAN switching standards, VLANs, STP / RSTP, 802.1X, and SNMP.Familiarity with Infoblox, HPE-IMC, Zabbix, and network monitoring tools.Basic understanding of routing principles and Palo Alto firewalls.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and documentation abilities.Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across functions.Self-motivated and capable of working independently under minimal supervision.Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.Professional certifications such as :
