Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead direct and indirect tax compliance , reporting , and advisory for multiple OYO territories including UK, LATAM, SEAME, and India . This role will also handle country-specific statutory filings and ensure OYO’s tax obligations are fulfilled across our operating geographies, including support for Sunday Hotels .

The ideal candidate should bring a mix of strong Indian tax knowledge, exposure to international tax regimes, and experience working with cross-border teams in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage VAT compliance for multiple entities including preparation and submission of VAT returns, reconciliations, and payment of liabilities.

Oversee input VAT recovery, supplier reconciliations, and ensure timely rectification of discrepancies.

Handle HMRC-specific indirect tax matters, liaising with external consultants on audits, assessments, and disputes.

Provide strategic input on tax efficiency, structuring, and transaction advisory in line with UK VAT legislation.

• Monitor updates in UK VAT, customs duty, and indirect tax regulations;

assess business impact and implement changes as required.

Prepare supporting data and documentation for HMRC enquiries, audits, and assessments.

Collaborate with internal teams (finance, procurement, operations, legal) to ensure correct VAT treatment across business transactions.

Support automation of VAT processes and ERP system enhancements to improve compliance accuracy and efficiency.

Build and maintain effective relationships with external advisors and tax authorities.

Qualifications & Experience

ACA / ACCA / CTA qualified (or equivalent).

2-6 years of post-qualification experience in UK Indirect Taxation (experience in multinational, hospitality, or retail sectors preferred).

Strong technical knowledge of UK VAT law, HMRC requirements, and EU / overseas VAT exposure is an advantage.

Demonstrated experience in handling tax audits, reconciliations, and advisory matters.

Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and problem-solving mindset.
