We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Kidswear Designer to join our Mumbai-based team, focusing on designing for the U.S. children’s market. This role will work closely with our NYC office to develop commercial, trend-right collections for major U.S. retailers and private labels. The ideal candidate is well-versed in global design trends, understands the nuances of the American kidswear market, and can translate creative direction into cohesive assortments that balance design and cost.
Key Responsibilities :
- Research seasonal trends, colors, prints, and silhouettes relevant to the U.S. kidswear market (Infant, Toddler, and Big Kids).
- Create CADs, concept boards, and color stories aligned with U.S. retail trends and brand direction.
- Develop print and graphic artwork suitable for the U.S. market while ensuring commercial viability.
- Collaborate closely with the NYC office on assortment planning, line development, and product presentations.
- Partner with the merchandising and production teams to ensure aesthetic intent aligns with costing and fabrication capabilities.
- Prepare line sheets and presentation decks for seasonal reviews and buyer meetings.
- Maintain awareness of key U.S. retailers and competitive landscape (Target, Walmart, TJX, Ross, Kohl’s, Carter’s, etc.).
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related field.2–6 years of experience in kidswear design (experience with U.S. or export markets preferred).Strong sense of color, trend forecasting, and commercial design sensibility.Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD software.Excellent communication and time management skills; comfortable working with cross-functional and cross-continental teams.What We Offer :
