Department
The Centre for Industry Education Collaboration (CIEC) is a unique centre in the University of York's Chemistry Department. CIEC is recognised for its expertise in creating and maintaining a diverse range of initiatives to inspire primary children and their teachers about science and its vital importance to our UK manufacturing base. CIEC has an established reputation for the delivery of high quality CPD to enhance science education and improve mutual understanding between industry and schools.
CIEC is looking for an experienced and successful primary teacher to deliver the Children Challenging Industry programme across the Humber region. The role is offered on a part time basis (0.35FTE) for six months starting from 5 January 2026, with the possibility of extension. You will travel to schools and companies across the region to provide exemplary science teaching and CPD for teachers and industrialists. You will have strengths in teaching science, a high level of self-motivation, and enjoy working with other teachers and industry professionals.
You will be employed by the University of York and based in CATCH, Stallingborough. Training and support for running industrial aspects of the project will be provided by CIEC.
