Job description

For an international project in Chennai, we are urgently looking for a Full Remote Senior Power BI Developer to design and develop BI reports using Power BI. The role of this developer requires him / her to have wide knowledge over business intelligence, data integration, data warehousing, modeling, database, and technical aspects of BI tools.

We are looking for a motivated contractor. Candidates need to be fluent in English.

Tasks and responsibilities :

Synthesize the analysis work with the characteristics of the existing data mart and reporting infrastructure, to derive the appropriate technical approach for information delivery;
Understand business requirements in BI context and design data models to transform raw data into meaningful insights;
Translate business requirements and develop reports using Power BI;
Knowledge of SAP Business Objects client tools (Universe Designer, Webi, Webi Rich Client etc.) and be able to do reverse engineering to convert SAP BO reports to Power BI;
Work with end users to create reporting templates and mockups;
Debug and solveproblems by tracing from the report all the way to the source;
Understand how data is gathered, managed, and converted into usable reports within the organization;
Develop dashboards and visualizations using various dashboard tools (PowerBI or Tableau);
Design, develop, test, and deploy Power BI scripts and perform detailed analytics;
Perform DAX queries and functions in Power BI;
Document the development methodologies, benchmarks, and procedures needed to optimize performance;
Ensure that allguidelines are followed;
Collaborate with application DBAs, architects, and ETL developers in the implementation of BI solution;
Perform Unit testing and document test results;
Socialize and refine detailed functional designs with other project team leads and client business representatives;
Plan and perform quality reviews of project deliverables prior to release;
Evaluate the technical requirements to accurately estimate time and cost of identified options to make recommendations on approach from the business perspective;
Responsible forassisting all developers in passing the required Knowledge transfer;
Understand business requirements and translate them into functional & technical requirements;
Support user acceptance testing and facilitate requirement sign-off with appropriate business stakeholders;

Profile :

Bachelor or Master degree;

6+ years of relevant hands-on experience working with BI tools such as Power BI to develop reports, dashboards and perform power BI data modeling;

3+ years hands on working experience in creating data-rich dashboards, writing DAX expressions, and implementing row-level security in Power BI. Also, they must be able to develop custom BI products that require knowledge of scripting languages and programming languages like Python;

Experience using SQL and performing data analysis for report development, testing and debugging

Experience in Power Automate is a plus;

Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to articulate to all project members and stakeholders;

Fluent in English;
