Position Title : Engineering Specialist, Electric Steering Systems
Overview
As an Electric Power Steering Integration Engineer your primary focus will be on designing and implementing electric steering solutions for future commercial vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess current product e-steering solutions offered in the market for multiple commercial vehicle applications.
- Develop product vehicle level requirements for future offerings.
- Assist in defining a technology roadmap for future e-steering an autonomous solutions for commercial applications.
- Develop designs that package in existing and future vehicle architectures.
- Work with suppliers as needed to improve vehicle integration, safety, performance.
- Experience in using simulation tools to review and improve performance including : including steering kinematics, NVH, durability.
- Manage real-time simulations to test and validate control strategies, tune parameters, and confirm safety measures.
- Ensure software and systems comply with safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262)
- Perform risk assessments and implement safety protocols.
- Develop test plans to ensure that systems meet performance and quality standards.
- Develop maintenance procedures and schedules to ensure system reliability.
- Create detailed technical documentation, including system schematics, wiring diagrams, and user manuals.
Required Education & Experience :
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and integrating electric steering solutionsExperience with developing product requirements for e-steering systems to meet vehicle level requirements, and use requirements tools (Polarion, PTC Integrity, etc).Experience with vehicle kinematic software (Adams, Motionview, etc..)Experience with automotive mechatronics design.Knowledge of controls systems and software integration.Familiarity with safety standards and regulations relevant to the product industry.Experience with ISO 26262 functional safety standard.Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.Willingness to adapt to evolving technologies and learning opportunities.Experience in competitive benchmarking and supplier selectionProject Management and Design ReleasePreferred Experience :
Hands on experience with vehicle systems and componentsModel-based design / simulation of systems using software tools such as Matlab / Simulink, PowerSim, TruckSim, etc.CAD software experience, CREO, etc.Experience with Agile and JIRA.Skills Required
