Overview
We are seeking a highly seasoned and strategic Principal Linux & Cloud Architect with 14-18 years of progressive experience to lead the architecture, engineering, and deployment of our enterprise Linux and multi-cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be an expert in various Linux distributions, enterprise storage solutions, and large-scale Virtual Machine (VM) deployments across major public cloud platforms. This role requires strong project management acumen to drive complex infrastructure initiatives from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities
Linux Infrastructure & Architecture
- Lead the design, standardization, and optimization of enterprise Linux environments using distributions such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, Rocky Linux, and Ubuntu.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all aspects of the Linux operating system, including performance tuning, security hardening, patching, and lifecycle management.
- Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) for automated Linux provisioning and configuration management at scale.
Cloud & Virtualization
Architect and oversee the deployment and management of Linux Virtual Machines (VMs) and related infrastructure services across major public cloud providers : Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Design cloud-native solutions, ensuring cost optimization, high availability, and disaster recovery across multi-cloud environments.Develop robust migration strategies for on-premises Linux workloads to the cloud.Storage & Data Protection
Design and implement enterprise storage solutions, specifically integrating with and managing arrays from HPE (e.g., 3PAR, Nimble) and Dell (e.g., PowerMax, Unity) for Linux environments.Architect and manage enterprise backup and recovery strategies using Veeam Backup & Replication for Linux VMs and physical servers across both on-premises and cloud locations.Expertise in file systems (e.g., XFS, EXT4), LVM, and storage networking (SAN, NAS, iSCSI).Leadership & Project Management
Utilize project management experience to lead and successfully execute complex, high-impact infrastructure projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.Define technical standards, documentation, and operational processes for the Linux and cloud teams.Mentor and provide technical leadership to a team of Linux engineers and administrators.Collaborate with security and development teams (DevOps) to ensure infrastructure alignment with business goals and compliance requirements.Required Qualifications and Skills
14-18 years of technical experience in IT infrastructure, with a minimum of 5 years in an Architectural or Lead Engineering capacity.Expert proficiency across multiple Linux distributions : Red Hat (RHEL), CentOS, Rocky Linux, and Ubuntu.Demonstrable experience deploying and managing production Linux VMs on at least two of the following major clouds : AWS, Azure, and GCP.In-depth, hands-on experience with Veeam Backup & Replication solutions, specifically for Linux workloads and cloud integration.Strong background in managing and integrating enterprise storage platforms from HPE and Dell within a Linux environment.Proven ability to manage and deliver large-scale, complex technical projects from initiation through closure.Excellent communication, presentation, and technical documentation skills.Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA), AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
