The Role
We’re seeking a Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer to Lead all technical development, customization, and integration work for the rollout of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) across multiple entities in Asia Pacific, starting with Client in Melbourne. This role is pivotal in establishing BC Center of Excellence, ensuring technical independence and building scalable, maintainable ERP solutions aligned with group strategy.
Please note : This position requires full-time presence in Malaysia time 9 : 00am – 5 : 00 pm (5 days per week) fully remote and will be required to travel overseas
Key Responsibilities
A. System Development & Customization
- Design, develop, and deploy AL extensions, code units, pages, reports, and queries.
- Customize standard BC objects following best practices for upgrade-safe development
- Implement approval workflows, document management, and automation using Power Automate.
- Develop new report layouts (RDLC / Word) and dashboards integrated with Power BI.
B. Environment & Release Management
Configure and maintain DEV / TEST / PROD environments using Azure DevOps.Build CI / CD pipelines, manage source control (Git), and oversee release deployment.Coordinate environment refreshes, patches, and version upgrades with Global IT.C. Data Migration & Integration
Lead migration from SYSPRO → D365 BC : extract, transform, validate, and import master data.Develop reusable import templates (customers, vendors, items, BOM, GL, opening balances).Create and manage integrations with third-party systems (warehouse, CRM, banking).Implement secure API connections and data-synchronization routines.D. Support & Continuous Improvement
Provide post-go-live technical support and bug-fixing during hypercare.Monitor performance and troubleshoot production issues.Participate in code reviews and maintain full technical documentation for CoE knowledge base.Identify improvement opportunities and recommend technical enhancements.E. Collaboration & Training
Partner with Functional Consultant to translate business needs into technical solutions.Work with finance and supply-chain stakeholders to test and validate new features.Mentor junior developers and share technical knowledge across the APAC team.Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s in computer science, Software Engineering or related field.5+ years of hands-on BC / NAV development using ALProficiency with VS Code, Git, Azure DevOpsSolid understanding of BC data model (Finance, SCM, Manufacturing)Experience with APIs / OData / RESTStrong SQL skills; familiarity with Power Platform integration.Experience in ERP migration or implementation projectsExposure to legacy systems (SYSPRO, SAP B1, NAV) will be an added advantageMicrosoft Certified : Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer Associate (MB-820 or MB-800) and Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900). (Preferred)Excellent communication skills across multicultural teamsDetail oriented & strong analytical skillsProactive self-starter with ability to deliver under tight deadlines.
