Description : The Senior Manager Procurement will be responsible for driving Shiprockets end-to-end procurement process for warehouse infrastructure, equipment, and assets. The role ensures cost-effective sourcing, vendor compliance, contract management, and techno-commercial evaluation of procurement items to support the expansion and smooth functioning of warehouse operations across the network.
Key Responsibilities :
- Identify and evaluate suppliers for warehouse infrastructure (racking systems, MHEs, HVAC, automation systems, etc.).
- Float RFQs / RFPs and manage the bidding process from start to finish.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Track and manage purchase orders, delivery schedules, and vendor payments.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, budgets, and audit standards.
- Evaluate and onboard new vendors based on quality, reliability, financial stability, and cost metrics.
Techno-Commercial Evaluation :
Collaborate with technical, operations, and projects teams to understand specifications of required assets.Conduct cost-benefit analyses and comparative studies of vendor proposals.Prepare and present techno-commercial evaluation statements for leadership decision-making.Support project planning and CAPEX budgeting for new warehouse setups or expansions.Asset Management & Cost Control :
Maintain accurate records of procured assets and CAPEX utilization.Track lifecycle costs of assets, from purchase to decommissioning.Implement sourcing strategies to reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).Monitor asset depreciation, maintenance schedules, and replacements to optimize utilization.Stakeholder Management :
Partner with operations, projects, and finance teams for procurement planning.Ensure timely approvals, documentation, and reporting of procurement activities.Monitor vendor performance against SLAs, resolve escalations, and drive continuous & Experience :Bachelors degree in Engineering / Supply Chain / Operations Management; MBA or equivalent preferred.8-12 years of experience in procurement, preferably in infrastructure-heavy, logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing environments.Strong track record in vendor negotiation, contract management, and techno-commercial procurement.Knowledge of CAPEX planning, asset lifecycle management, and procurement automation tools.Excellent stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Skills & Competencies :
