Job Highlight

The Program Communications Associate will work closely with WRI India’s Urban Development team. This role entails developing strategic communication products to convey the impact of WRI India’s work across cities on urban water and climate resilience. The ideal candidate should have experience in creating engaging social media content and must have design and video editing skills along with excellent skills in English writing, editing, and proofing. Knowledge of Kannada is preferred.

What you will do :

Digital Media Content Creation (40%)

  • Develop communication material suited for different formats (like short video snippets, graphics, reels) for different WRI India channels – WhatsApp, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc, YouTube.
  • Leverage existing products (like research reports, decks, blogs) and identify key messages to develop strategic social media messaging.
  • Maintain and execute a social media outreach calendar.
  • Identify opportunities to develop new content (like writing a LinkedIn article to highlight a milestone or creating an attractive post based on a new publication release).
  • Develop a digital communication plan for project outreach, showcasing milestones and impact creation of the entire ecosystem (spotlighting external partners and champions)

Other Content Creation (30%)

  • Develop creative assets for events / convenings to establish a unique visual identity both online and offline.
  • Record podcasts, webinars, reels as needed and ensure wide dissemination and engagement on relevant platforms.
  • Develop content for press releases, blogs, pitches, and facilitate the writing of op-eds for external publications.
  • Research and Event Outreach and Support (30%)

  • Convert research papers into simple-to-digest products that are interesting to a larger digital audience.
  • Prepare presentation decks / booklets and other material as needed to communicate project work impactfully.
  • Support teams in developing reading materials (concept notes, agendas, etc.) for convenings / workshops.
  • Facilitate internal coordination and lend end-to-end communication support during on-ground convenings.
  • What you will need :

  • 2-4 years of full-time experience working as a communication coordinator.
  • Experience dealing with a wide variety of stakeholders and vendors.
  • Knowledge of urban water and climate resilience will be preferred.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in English and familiarity with Kannada.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to build and maintain productive relationships internally and externally.
  • Capability to communicate complex ideas in simple language.
  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines, manage multiple project deadlines.
  • Enthusiasm, flexibility, technical curiosity, and willingness to learn.
  • Understanding of how events are organized and basic troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in design software (Photoshop, InDesign, Canva, or other AV / animation software) is preferred.
  • Salary and Benefits : INR 9,50,000 to 12,50,000 CTC

    Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills. WRI India offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package.

    Duration : 6 months (extendable based on performance)

    Location : Bangalore
