The Assistant Manager – Maintenance is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning, reliability, and availability of plant machinery, utilities, and equipment at the Haldia Unit. The role focuses on preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and driving continual improvements to enhance equipment life and plant efficiency.
Responsibilities
Operations & Maintenance
- Execute preventive, predictive, and scheduled maintenance plans to ensure minimum downtime of machinery and utilities.
- Monitor machine performance, conduct root cause analysis for breakdowns, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure timely calibration, servicing, and upkeep of critical production equipment.
Project & Technical Support
Assist in installation, commissioning, and testing of new equipment, upgrades, and automation initiatives.Work with vendors, OEMs, and contractors for maintenance services and spare procurement.Safety & Compliance
Ensure maintenance activities adhere to safety guidelines, ISO / IMS standards, and statutory compliance.Maintain records of maintenance logs, breakdown reports, and compliance documentation.Team & Coordination
Supervise maintenance technicians and support staff, ensuring skill development and adherence to SOPs.Coordinate with Production, SCM, Quality, and Administration for smooth plant operations.Cost & Resource Management
Monitor spare parts inventory, procurement planning, and AMC management.Optimize maintenance costs through reliability improvements and energy-saving initiatives.Qualifications
Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Production Engineering (or equivalent).5–8 years of experience in plant / industrial maintenance, preferably in manufacturing or engineering industry.
