Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Customer Relationship Executive based in Chennai. The Executive will act as the primary bridge between parents, students, and the club — ensuring that parents remain informed, engaged, and satisfied with their child’s progress.
The role involves tracking student performance, resolving academic or operational concerns, preventing dropouts, supporting fee collection, and proactively coordinating with coaches and the operations team to deliver an excellent parent experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Parent Engagement : Build strong relationships with parents, regularly check in on satisfaction, and serve as the human face of the club.
- Curriculum Support : Understand the curriculum thoroughly, answer parent queries confidently, and guide them on upcoming milestones.
- Progress Tracking : Monitor each student’s learning pace; escalate issues to Ops / Coaches and work on solutions where needed.
- Batch Management : Assess whether assigned batches suit each student and reassign when necessary for better fit.
- Parent Deliverables : Educate parents about their responsibilities (e.g., creating Lichess accounts, encouraging tournament participation) and ensure compliance.
- Retention & Dropout Prevention : Spot disinterest early, understand challenges, and troubleshoot to keep students engaged.
- Fee Follow-up : Reach out to fee defaulters, understand concerns, and resolve issues to ensure timely payments.
- Classroom Presence : Attend assigned student sessions, observe proactively, and resolve issues that may impact satisfaction.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (preferably in Business Administration, Communication, Psychology, or Education).1–3 years of experience in customer relationship management, parent engagement, academic counselling, or similar client-facing roles.Excellent communication skills in English and Tamil — both verbal and written.Strong listening, empathy, and problem-solving skills to handle parent concerns effectively.Comfort with CRM tools, MS Excel and Google Sheets / DocsAbility to coordinate across teams (coaches, operations, and accounts) and maintain timely follow-ups.A positive, patient, and proactive attitude with a passion for student progress and parent satisfaction.Willingness to work on-site from Chennai and occasionally attend student sessions.Ability to play chess and a basic understanding of chess coaching are preferred.
