Purpose :
RWS Small World Studio facilitate Transcreation, Content Production and Web Editing services for brands and agencies looking to deliver globally consistent and locally relevant marketing, advertising and branded content. The Copywriter / VOD will be working closely with our Creative Director, project managers, Language Office translators and client teams, transcreating and editing (there may be some copy origination work too) brand content to brief across all channels from English into Tamil.
For this particular project we have a number of modern songs, often new releases, that will need careful adaption for the Tamil market, hence why you need to have experience – be it professional and / or personal – in this field. A poetic and lyricist flair are necessary as well as sound knowledge of current music / pop culture, artists and language.
Requirements :
- Minimum of 3 years of proven creative / marketing transcreation and creative copywriting experience and voice over direction ideally within the advertising and marketing sector.
- Experience gained from language service provider, internal localization department, creative agency, internal agency or production agency perspective
- Sound experience of working with multiple types of local and global brands, confident in understanding nuances of tonality, style and target audience for brands
- Experience as a lyricist, song writer, or adapting such content. Sound understanding of song rhythms and rhymes, song composition and poetic license.
- Excellent command of English and a native Tamil speaker ideally based in India.
- Ability to adapt brand, advertising and marketing content to suit local market needs and requirements, taking into account language, culture, emotion, tonality, imagery etc.
- Ability to transcreate English content into Tamil for style and flow, ensuring overall suitability to brief, channel and target audience, while maintaining the integrity of the source content and correcting errors in grammar, spelling and language usage. With special attention to any content that includes lyrics, rhymes, colloquialism, etc.
- Strong creative flair and sound knowledge of local culture, regulations and trends
- If / when applicable able to attend conference calls and in-person client meetings to discuss brief and feedback
