What the Candidate Will Do
- Hire, inspire, lead, and grow a high performing team of 40 engineers, fostering a customer-focused, collaborative, learning, and inclusive culture.
- Develop a deep understanding of our customers, their pain points, and Uber's business.
- Collaborate with global business and product leaders to align on strategic vision and business strategy.
- Align technical vision with global business strategy incorporating your expectation of business, organizational, and technology trends. Influence and align technical strategy with other engineering organizations .
- Design and deliver delightful customer-centric solutions meeting both articulated and anticipated needs.
- Operate with excellence required for operating tier-1 services for a $80B+ business.
- Partner with global teams to define and execute roadmaps.
- Drive continuous improvement in processes, architecture, engineering practices. Guide and uphold engineering best practices
- Manage complex dependencies and balance short and long-term goals.
- Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.15+ years of software engineering experience.6+ years managing engineers, 3+ years managing managers.Strong technical architecture, system design, and problem-solving skills.Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Data Science, and Business.Preferred Qualifications
Master's or PhD in Computer Science or related field (a plus).Experience with B2B products and Marketplaces.Experience collaborating with global teams.Skills Required
