1. Role Summary The Purchase & Stores Head is responsible for end-to-end procurement of raw materials, chemicals, metal inserts, packaging, consumables, capital items and managing stores operations. The role ensures uninterrupted production, vendor development, cost control, logistics coordination and compliance. Preferable experience in sheet metal stamping or rubber manufacturing companies.

2. Key Responsibilities A. Procurement & Supply Chain

  • Plan procurement of rubber, chemicals, metal inserts, packaging materials, consumables and MRO items.
  • Ensure zero material shortages and timely material availability.
  • Execute purchase strategies and reduce dependency on single suppliers.

B. Vendor Development & Management

  • Identify and onboard new suppliers.
  • Conduct periodic supplier audits.
  • Negotiate prices, rate contracts and credit terms.
  • Maintain vendor performance scores for OTD, quality and pricing.
  • C. Cost Optimization

  • Achieve cost reduction through negotiation and sourcing.
  • Maintain PPV analysis and cost-saving logs.
  • Optimize freight and logistics cost.
  • Reduce inventory carrying cost through planning.
  • D. Inventory Management & Stores Control

  • Oversee stores operations, including inward, storage, issue and binning.
  • Ensure FIFO / FEFO and maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Conduct regular stock audits and maintain 5S and safety.
  • Ensure proper documentation and ERP entries.
  • E. Documentation, Compliance & ERP

  • Maintain PO, GRN, inward registers and stock ledgers.
  • Ensure MSDS and chemical compliance.
  • Prepare for customer and IATF audits.
  • Maintain traceability of materials and batch records.
  • F. Logistics Coordination

  • Manage and monitor inbound / outbound transportation.
  • Maintain GRN timeliness and supplier delivery adherence.
  • Ensure safe and compliant packaging and logistics. G. Team Leadership
  • Conduct performance reviews and skill development.
  • Build a culture of accuracy, accountability and discipline.
  • 3. Required Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Procurement, Stores, or Supply Chain.
  • Preferably from sheet metal stamping or rubber manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in high-volume material handling and vendor management.
  • Experience working with ERP for purchase and inventory.
  • 4. Education & Qualification

  • Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Production, Industrial preferred).
  • 5. Skills & Competencies Technical Skills :

  • Strong knowledge of supply chain and procurement.
  • ERP knowledge (SAP / Tally / Odoo).
  • Understanding of PPV, costing, BOM and planning.
  • Knowledge of IATF / ISO documentation. Behavioural Skills :
