Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Database Support & Implementation Engineer to serve as a key technical resource for our Hospital ERP solution. This role involves both backend database support (customizations, performance tuning, troubleshooting) and client-facing implementation responsibilities (installation, onboarding, training). The ideal candidate has strong expertise in SQL and experience working in ERP or healthcare domains.
Key Responsibilities
1. Database Support & Customization
- Respond to daily client requests involving data updates, corrections, and report generation at the database level.
- Develop, maintain, and modify stored procedures, triggers, functions, and views to deliver client-specific customizations.
- Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and indexes for performance improvements.
- Perform data migration, cleansing, validation, and transformation tasks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues raised by clients.
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and compliance with relevant healthcare data security and privacy standards.
2. Installation, Configuration & Onboarding
Deploy and configure the Hospital ERP application and its database components in clients’ infrastructure (on-premise or cloud).Support the initial setup, configuration, and migration of client data during onboarding.Provide technical guidance and training to client IT teams during installation, go-live, and stabilization phases.Document installation procedures, environment configurations, versioning changes, and onboarding checklists.Coordinate closely with internal teams (development, QA, product) to ensure smooth deployment transitions.3. Support & Communication
Act as primary contact for database-level support requests from clients.Log, categorize, prioritize, and resolve support tickets within defined SLAs.Escalate complex issues appropriately to development or architecture teams.Maintain a record of customizations, versioning history, and client-specific changes.Participate in periodic reviews and retrospective sessions with clients to address recurring issues and plan improvements.Skills & Competencies
Must-Have / Core SkillsStrong experience in Microsoft SQL Server (or equivalent RDBMS)Proficiency in T‑SQL, stored procedures, triggers, functions, views, indexing, query optimizationHands-on experience with database installation, backup, restore, disaster recovery, and migration processesSolid problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and analytical mindsetGood communication skills to interact with clients and internal stakeholdersAbility to multitask, manage priorities, and deliver under pressureDesirable / PlusExperience or familiarity with MySQL, Oracle, or other relational databasesPrevious work in ERP systems (especially healthcare ERP)Understanding of .NET / C# / APIs / web services would help in cross‑component troubleshootingKnowledge of database security best practices, encryption, auditingExperience in cloud database environments (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, etc.)Certifications (e.g. Microsoft Certified : Azure Database Administrator / SQL Server)Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in database support, database development, or ERP implementationExperience in client-facing roles (installation / onboarding / support) is preferredCertification in SQL Server / Database Administration will be a plus.
