Job description

About Care.fi

Today, a global hospital's revenue is largely dominated by Insurance payers - both government and private. With multiple payers in the mix, the overall revenue cycle management (RCM) is broken, opaque, and complex, filled with unexpected shortfalls and delayed realizations.

At Care.fi, we are building the world’s first AI-led RCM platform for hospitals to solve these pitfalls and thereby improve margins. Backed by marquee investors such as Peak XV (erstwhile Sequoia India), we are already a trusted partner for top Indian brands including Apollo, Fortis, Narayana Health, and the Aster Group, and we are now expanding globally.

Join us as we build a place where we think boldly to create opportunities for everyone to innovate and grow.

About the Role

We are looking to hire an experienced Medical Coder to join our global team from India. You will be dedicated to serving our key hospital and healthcare clients in Saudi Arabia and UAE. Your primary role will be to review patient medical records, ensure compliance with privacy standards like PHI and HIPAA, and convert clinical documentation into standardized medical codes as per ICD-10-CM and PCS guidelines. You will be a vital part of our mission to streamline the revenue cycle for our international partners.

What You'll Do

  • Review inpatient medical records from our Saudi Arabian clients and assign accurate ICD-10-CM (PDx and SDx) and PCS codes for diagnoses and procedures.
  • Assign and sequence codes accurately based on medical record documentation.
  • Assign Present on Admission (POA) indicators correctly.
  • Apply a thorough understanding of medical necessity, DRGs, and APRs to ensure accurate claims processing.
  • Adhere to coding clinics and guidelines, and query physicians for clarification as needed.
  • Monitor account statuses and follow up with internal and client-side stakeholders as required.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to professionally correspond with international clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing business requirements.
  • Experience with Middle Eastern healthcare systems is a significant advantage.
