About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ELV Draughtsman to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive lifecycle management of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems, from initial design and client consultation to installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance. This is a dynamic role for a detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple projects, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and ensure all systems are implemented according to the highest industry and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust ELV system solutions, including CCTV, access control, fire alarms, and communication systems, based on client requirements and site assessments.
- Prepare detailed technical specifications, project documentation, and accurate cost estimations for various ELV projects.
- Conduct site surveys to evaluate project feasibility and gather essential data for system implementation.
- Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of ELV systems with other building services.
- Oversee the configuration, testing, and commissioning of ELV systems on-site to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Provide timely and effective technical support to clients, including troubleshooting, system functionalities, and maintenance guidance.
- Manage project schedules, timelines, and vendor relationships to ensure high-quality material delivery and project completion within deadlines.
- Perform regular system checks, upgrades, and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Remain current with new technologies, industry standards, and best practices in ELV systems through continuous learning and professional development.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Electrical EngineeringProven experience as an ELV Draughtsman or in a similar role within the industry.Strong knowledge of ELV systems, including security, fire alarm, communication, and access control.Familiarity with relevant industry standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements.Proficiency in design software and tools relevant to ELV engineering, such as AutoCAD or BIM software.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.Professional certifications in low voltage systems or related areas.
