Job Profile Summary

The Direct Tax Manager would be responsible for all the Direct Tax Matters including Compliances, Transfer Pricing, Accounting of Direct Taxes, Audits, Statutory Assessments, Planning, Restructuring, Transaction Analysis, International Transactions, Due Diligence etc. The Direct Tax Manager will work with Businesses, Cross Functional Teams within and outside Finance and other Tax Professionals / Service Providers in carrying out his / her responsibilities.

Roles and Responsibility :

Organization Objectives

Monitor Legislative Changes in Tax laws that may impact Company's tax positions (past or present) including Tax Accounting Implications

Monitor adherence to company's policies and building upon robust Tax Documentation / SOP's

Monitor company's international transactions and transfer pricing policies and related documentation

Act as the key facilitator for Tax & Risk Management and leveraging on Tax opportunities

Advising Management for any Tax Optimisation measures and identification of gaps in the processes and mitigation thereof

Statutory / Accounting Compliances

Lead all the Statutory Compliances for the company as a whole with regard to Direct Tax Laws & Rules including Filings, Audits, Assessments, Certifications etc.

Lead all Tax Audit and Transfer Pricing Audit Activities

Responsible for compilation of all relevant information for applicable audits and liaise with the respective Auditors as required

Management of litigations at various fora and liaison with service providers at all levels

Responsible for Accounting of Corporate / Deferred Taxes as per applicable GAAP requirements

Ownership of all the General Ledgers in ERP as relating to Direct Taxes

Cross Functional Coordination and Contribution

Extensive Communication with key Stakeholders across business functions (Accounting, Legal, Treasury, Supply Chain, Sourcing, Sales etc.)

Guiding other functions by researching and interpreting various Tax laws and its application on operational matters

Sharing of Best Practices across functions to achieve Organisation Objectives

Conducting knowledge sessions within Finance and Cross Functional Teams

Role Specific Competencies :

Excellent knowledge of Direct Tax Laws and concepts applicable to domestic and international transactions, Leading on all Tax Filings, Handling / Advising on all Direct Tax Litigations , Financial Reporting / Disclosure as pertaining to Direct Taxes, Guidance / Advising the Teams on Direct Tax Matters etc.
