Linux SME Administrator
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Linux SME with extensive experience in managing and optimizing Linux-based systems (Ubuntu, SUSE, Red Hat) and a strong command of AWS services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of secure and scalable Linux environments, both on-premises and in the cloud.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Linux systems across distributions, including Ubuntu, SUSE, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- Deploy, configure, and monitor AWS cloud infrastructure, leveraging best practices for security, scalability, and performance.
- Automate routine system administration tasks using scripting languages (Bash, Python, etc.).
- Ensure high availability of Linux servers by implementing clustering, failover, and backup solutions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize Linux environments.
- Manage user authentication, permissions, and security policies on Linux servers.
- Design and deploy Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar tools.
- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to support CI / CD pipelines and containerized applications.
- Perform patch management and apply system hardening techniques to enhance security.
- Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, runbooks, and SOPs.
Required Skills
Operating Systems Expertise : Proficiency in Linux distributions, including Ubuntu, SUSE, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).AWS Knowledge : Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, CloudWatch, IAM, and Lambda.Scripting : Advanced scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Perl for automation and task management.Networking : Strong understanding of networking protocols, load balancers, firewalls, and VPNs.Automation : Expertise with tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef for configuration management.Monitoring Tools : Experience with monitoring solutions like Prometheus, Nagios, or AWS CloudWatch.Security : In-depth knowledge of system hardening, patch management, and encryption best practices.IaC : Practical experience with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or other Infrastructure as Code tools.Thank you
