Role & responsibilities

To carry out chemical analysis of raw materials, alloys, and finished products in the ferro alloys / SMS plant, ensuring quality standards are met and supporting production with timely and accurate test reports.

Responsibilities

Chemist - Ferro Alloys Unit

• Conduct chemical analysis of raw materials (manganese ore, coke, dolomite, quartz, etc.) and ferro alloys (FeMn, SiMn, FeSi, etc.).
• Perform
• wet chemistry, gravimetric, and instrumental analysis
• (AAS, ICP, Spectrometer, Carbon-Sulphur analyzer, UV spectrophotometer, etc.).
• Ensure proper sampling methods for raw materials, in-process samples, and final products.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments, ensuring accuracy of results.
• Monitor
• slag, metal recovery, and quality parameters
• as per production requirements.
• Prepare and maintain
• daily test reports
• and communicate results to production & management.
• Ensure compliance with
• quality standards (ISO, BIS, NABL if applicable)
• and maintain lab documentation.
• Support in
• process optimization, yield improvement, and cost reduction
• by providing timely data.
• Maintain stock of lab chemicals, glassware, and consumables.
• Follow all
• safety, health, and environment (SHE)
• protocols in laboratory operations.

Preferred candidate profile

Education : B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Chemistry (Inorganic / Analytical preferred).

Experience : 39 years of experience in chemical analysis, preferably in ferro alloys / SMS / steel / metal industry.
