Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fabrication & Machining Process Engineer to oversee, develop, and optimize fabrication, machining, and assembly processes. The role involves ensuring cost-effective, high-quality, and timely production of equipment and components while maintaining safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Process Planning & Development
- Develop process flow for fabrication and machining activities.
- Prepare & review fabrication drawings and machining programs.
- Select appropriate machining methods, cutting tools, fixtures, and jigs.
- Design and optimize fabrication sequences (cutting, bending, welding, grinding, finishing).
2. Production Support
Monitor daily machining and fabrication activities.Troubleshoot process-related issues on shop floor.Ensure proper utilization of CNC, VMC, lathe, drilling, and other machining equipment.Maintain accuracy, quality, and dimensional tolerances of components.3. Quality & Compliance
Implement and maintain quality assurance processes during fabrication & machining.Verify finished components meet drawing specifications and industry standards.Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.4. Cost & Efficiency Optimization
Analyze cycle times, reduce waste, and improve material utilization.Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.Support cost reduction initiatives in fabrication and machining processes.5. Coordination & Documentation
Coordinate with design, purchase, and production departments.Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for processes.Maintain records of process parameters, inspections, and machine performance.Required Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of fabrication (cutting, welding, bending, grinding) & machining (CNC, VMC, Lathe, Milling, Drilling).Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (2D & 3D).Familiarity with GD&T, tolerances, and machining symbols.Hands-on experience with welding techniques and fabrication standards.Knowledge of ERP / MRP systems for production planning.Problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.Good communication and coordination abilities.Qualifications
Education : Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering.Experience : 3–8 years (depending on level) in fabrication and machining processes.Job Location : MECHCON INDUSTRIAL SOLUTION PVT LTD CHAKAN .
