About the Role
Anandabazar.Com is looking for a creative, energetic, and self-driven Social Media Community Manager to lead conversations, build engagement, and shape our online community. The ideal candidate should have a journalistic mindset, a quirky and creative bent of thought, and a deep understanding of social media platforms and audiences.
Key Responsibilities
Lead conversations across social platforms and cultivate an active, vibrant online community.Proactively engage with audiences—respond to comments, spark discussions, and moderate conversations.Identify trending topics and create timely, conversation-worthy posts.Collaborate with editorial and video teams to align community engagement with content strategy.Track audience sentiment, flag emerging conversations, and surface user insights.Plan and execute community-building initiatives such as polls, Q&As, and campaigns.Maintain tone, voice, and brand personality consistently across platforms.Monitor platform performance and provide input to improve reach and engagement.
Required Skills & Qualifications Proficiency in Bengali (must) and good working knowledge of English.Strong understanding of social media platforms, especially Facebook, Instagram, Twitter / X, and YouTube.A background in journalism or newsroom experience is highly preferred.Self-motivated, proactive, and able to spark conversations independently.Creative and quirky thinking—with the ability to craft fun, sharp, culturally aware responses and posts.Good communication skills and a keen sense of digital audience behaviour.Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple interactions simultaneously.
