Exide Energy Solutions Limited is looking for Assistant Manager - Mechanical Projects in the Manufacturing organisation to achieve company's goal at Devanahalli, Bangalore Rural Manufacturing Location .
Job Overview : We are seeking an experienced and proactive Mechanical Project Lead to oversee and manage the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems across a variety of critical construction projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with key mechanical systems such as chillers, cooling towers, pumps, fire protection systems, and HVAC, among others. This role will involve technical analysis, coordination with stakeholders, and ensuring the smooth execution of mechanical systems in accordance with safety, quality, and budget specifications.
Key Responsibilities :
Design and Engineering Support :
- Develop and review the Design Basis Report (DBR) and ensure all mechanical systems are designed according to the specified requirements and project needs.
- Review and approve Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) to ensure they align with design standards.
- Provide technical support in the development and review of system specifications for the mechanical systems.
Tendering and Procurement :
Lead the tendering process for mechanical systems, ensuring the scope of work and technical requirements are well-defined.Conduct thorough technical bid analysis and make technical recommendations based on vendor proposals.Coordination and Kick-Off Meetings :
Facilitate and lead kick-off meetings for all major mechanical systems projects, ensuring alignment of expectations between all stakeholders.Collaborate closely with engineers, contractors, and vendors to review and finalize technical details for installation.Installation, Testing, and Commissioning : Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical packages, including :
Chillers and Cooling TowersPumps (Cooling Water Pumps, Primary Pumps, Secondary Pumps, etc.)Compressors, Air Dryers & Air ReceiversCompressor Cooling Towers & PumpsVacuum SystemsDedusting UnitsFire Protection Systems (Hydrants, Sprinklers, etc.)Utility Piping (CHWS / R, Compressed Air, Nitrogen, Domestic Water, Flushing Water, etc.)Water PackageDry Room Partitions with required AHU, Dehumidifiers, and Swit Units and Ventilation SystemQualifications :
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering , Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)Proven experience (6+ years) in construction management, specifically with mechanical systems and large-scale infrastructure projects.Strong technical knowledge in the design, installation, and commissioning of systems such as chillers, cooling towers, compressors, fire protection systems, ventilation, and utility piping.Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&ID, PFD, and technical drawings.Experience with tendering, bid analysis, and vendor management.Strong understanding of mechanical system specifications, standards, and codes.Excellent project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.Familiarity with construction safety standards and practices.Experience with commissioning and start-up procedures for complex mechanical systems.Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating with various stakeholders.Skills Required
