Role Overview :
- The Projects Acquisition Manager - Hydro Power will lead efforts to identify, evaluate, and acquire hydro power projects or companies that align with the organization's strategic growth objectives.
- This role demands strong expertise in project acquisition, due diligence, financial assessment, and stakeholder management.
- The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in hydro project transactions, regulatory coordination, and deal execution within the Indian power sector.
Key Responsibilities :
Identify and evaluate potential Hydro Power project acquisition opportunities across India.Conduct market research, feasibility analysis, and technical, commercial, and regulatory due diligence.Formulate and implement acquisition and investment strategies in line with corporate objectives.Assess financial performance, valuations, and key risks of potential projects or assets.Lead deal structuring and negotiations with developers, investors, and government bodies.Coordinate with cross-functional teams (legal, finance, engineering, and operations) for transaction execution.Oversee integration and transition of acquired assets to ensure operational and financial performance targets are met.Prepare and present reports, proposals, and business cases to senior management.Build and maintain a network of industry contacts to source new opportunities and market intelligence.Qualifications & Experience :
Education : Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Finance, or a related field. Master's is a plus.
Experience :
6 - 8 years of relevant experience in project acquisition, business development, or M&A within the hydro power or renewable energy sector.Proven track record in successfully evaluating, negotiating, and closing hydro project acquisitions in India, preferably including exposure to Chhattisgarh (CG) and other hydro-rich regions.Strong understanding of hydropower project development, regulatory frameworks, and financial modeling.Demonstrated experience working with state and central government agencies, developers, and EPC contractors.Experience managing cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders through complex Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and travel extensively across India.(ref : iimjobs.com)
